Domaine de Grisy, Bourgogne Chardonnay 2024

100% Chardonnay

Cotes d'Auxerre, Burgundy, France

Fresh and fruity chardonnay from northern Burgundy. Pale yellow in colour with aromas of white flowers and almonds. On the palate, minerality and a smooth creaminess that finishes with notes of honey. 

The Chardonnay vines are planted on Kimmeridgian and Portlandian soils, covering 4 hectares in the Côtes d'Auxerre. Harvested and sorted in the cellar. Pneumatic pressing for optimum extraction. Vinification using natural yeasts, followed by 2 to 5 months in stainless steel tanks with malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfites added. VEGAN. 

During the Reign of Terror (1793-1794) the Sorin family sought exile in Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, although the family originates from the Vendée, towards Cognac. The 25-acre multi-generation estate is currently run by Pascal Sorin, his wife Cristine Coquard, and their son Pierre. Practices in the vineyard are organic and the Domaine is HEV Level 3 certified.
