The vineyard has been a clos since the 12th century, the Béru family replanted vines there in the 80’s. Limestone soils with 35-40 year old vines, organic and biodynamic. Malolactic fermentation with indigenous yeasts. A long aging of 18 months in demi-muids, then a year in casks and 6 months in bottle. A powerful, mineral, and complex wine. Unfined and unfiltered VEGAN and 2mg/L sulfur added at bottling. 

This is the emblematic cuvée of Château de Béru. It comes from a vineyard located 300 m above sea level, planted around the castle on an outcrop of pure Kimmeridgian limestone bedrock and surrounded by an enclosed wall several hundred years old.
