Observing the environment, aligning with natural cycles to find balance in the soil, and encouraging the surrounding biodiversity: this is the leitmotif which marks Sagesse des Sols. Since taking over his family's vines in 2007, Fred has worked meticulously to convert the vineyards to a method of farming that is able to reveal the different terroirs within a one-kilometer radius of their cellar, where all their vines are situated. Now under the joint direction of him and his partner Cathy, the vines are thriving: Grolleau, Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pineau d'Aunis, many over 50 year old, are nestled between rows planted with favas and oats, which help nourish the health and autonomy of the soils.
